SALLY ZITO pianist songwriter
Sally Zito began her musical career began at age 4 with classical piano concerts, and moved into jazz improvisation, and performance with several professional bands. Sally was the drummer for a heavy metal cover band and began composing while studying orchestration and arrangement with her father, composer Joseph Zito, musical arranger and conductor for Nat King Cole, among other top celebrities.

The New York native, continued her musical education at Berklee College of Music in Boston, where she received her Bachelor’s degree. She relocated to Los Angeles and spent the next four years working for/with Grammy-winning and Oscar-nominated film composer, the late Michael Kamen (Lethal Weapon, Mr. Holland's Opus, X-Men, etc.). Sally credits him as a personal friend whose support of her writing was instrumental.

Soon after, she met multi-platinum songwriter/recording artist Harriet Schock, (“That Ain’t No Way to Treat a Lady,” “Ferris Wheel”), who mentored her songwriting and introduced her to the L.A. scene from the inside out.

The Sally Zito Project was formed and met with great success. It was also during this time in Sally's career that she met manager, Peter Bennett (formerly promotion manager for The Beatles, The Rolling Stones) who introduced her as "the female Billy Joel" because of her aggressive, yet sophisticated piano-playing style.

Sally has appeared as the opening act at the Paramount Theater in Hollywood during a "Benefit for the Animals," hosted by Paula Abdul and for such notable artists as Chuck Negron of Three Dog Night, Lester Chambers of The Chambers Brothers, Tony Maiden of Rufus and Chaka Khan, Howard Scott of War, Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter, Robbie Dupree ("Steal Away"). Additionally, she has worked with Grammy and Oscar-nominated artist, Stephen Bishop ("Separate Lives," "It Might Be You").

Sally opened for legendary Eddie Money in San Francisco for charity, benefitting Strikeouts for Troops and the San Francisco Giants' Community Fund.

When Barry Zito is not pitching for the San Francisco Giants, he enjoys performing guitar with his sister, Sally.
